The US premiere of Requiem for my friend took place in the Sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana, as part of the church's 175th Anniversary.

The performance was conducted by Polish-American Stephen Sheftz. The ensembles included in this performance were the First Presbyterian Church choirs; the Indiana/Purdue University Fort Wayne Singers directed Dr. Todd Prickett; and a 48-piece orchestra including numerous members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.

Soloists included Minneapolis soprano Jane Andersen, Cincinnati male soprano Cortez Mitchell, youth soprano Sasha Bachwich, countertenor Jeffrey Manns, tenor Fred Meads, bass Dan Albers and First Presbyterian Church organist, Christopher G. Nelson. The performance also included projections of art and film.

Both concerts in Amsterdam were performed by the Sinfonia Baltica and the Camerata Silesia conducted by Bohdan Jarmolowicz, and featured the Polish soloists who recorded the album with Preisner in 1998:

Other performances

A suite of Preisner’s film music was performed by the Belgian National Orchestra conducted by Dirk Brossé, on 20th October 2005 at the Ghent Opera House, and also at the Volksbuhne, Berlin, with the Flemish Radio Orchestra, conducted by Dirk Brossé, on 2nd December 2005.
