New Preisner Work Opens Ice Krakow

2014 – Here and Now was performed in the 2,000-seater Auditorium Hall at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, which boasts state-of-the-art sound design and construction, designed by architects Krzysztof Ingarden and Jacek Ewý.

The principal message of Preisner’s new work is the place of human beings in history, modern civilisation and their existential transience. Both the music, and the libretto written by Ewa Lipska, refer to Krakow’s past social and cultural atmosphere, evoked in an unconventional and original manner in the presentation and performance of the music.

2014 – Here and Now was performed by a distinguished cast of international and Polish soloists, orchestra and chorus, with spectacular lighting, holographic and sound design.
