New album- Fourth Film Music Symphony Foolish Heart

Caldera Records has just released worldwide CD with Preisner’s score for the film Foolish Heart directed by Hector Babenco. The film had premiere in Cannes in 1998 but the soundtrack has not been released until now.
Zbigniew Preisner invited for that recording Sinfonia Varsovia, Leszek Możdżer and Jerzy Główczewski.
Preisner reassembled the different short cues to form a new work that stands on its own, outside the images. There is a reason, after all, why the album bears the title Fourth Film Music Symphony. Zbigniew Preisner explains his approach thus: “For some time, I’ve been thinking about how to present my music from films where it usually appears only in short cues. While reading through the scores, I realized that these short cues could be combined – and in doing so, they formed a kind of symphony. Of course, not all of my film music lends itself to that symphonic shape, but the scores for Dekalog, Three Colours, The Island on Bird Street, Foolish Heart, The Secret Garden, and When a Man Loves a Woman fulfill my vision of film music symphonies. Music on a record follows its own rules. Foolish Heart, which I call my Fourth Film Music Symphony, meets all the conditions of this concept."
The album has also been released digitally at Preisner Digital Store and on September 12th 2025 on all major digital platforms. You can find more information about CD here: https://www.caldera-records.com/foolish-heart
